Le Frac Corse (fonds régional d’art contemporain) est partie prenante des “Pléiades”, nom donné aux manifestations organisées à travers toute la France pour célébrer   les 30 ans de la création des Frac en France.

Depuis leur origine, les FRAC, cofinancées par l’État et les Régions, rejoints par d’autres collectivités territoriales, s’acquittent de trois missions complémentaires :
collectionner l’art de notre temps, le donner à voir en allant à la rencontre des publics, en faire la pédagogie.”

Le principe des “Pléiades”  consiste à inviter dans chaque région un artiste qui montera une exposition d’art contemporain. En Corse, c’est Hugues Reip qui a été retenu   pour ce projet. “Dans son propre travail,explique la présentation de l’exposition,  Hugues Reip use parfois de faux‑semblants et pour cette présentation de la collection   du FRAC Corse, il sera donc question d’apparences trompeuses.

Jouant avec les ombres portées des oeuvres exposées, il transformera ces dernières en éléments de  démonstration  (socles, cimaises..), installant les objets sur leurs propres projections, matérialisant ainsi leurs silhouettes en un double négatif. De manière plus  symbolique, cette proposition sera renforcée par la présence d’une oeuvre lumineuse de Maurizio Nannucci entrée dans la collection du FRAC Corse en 2000.

Il s’agit de  la phrase en néon «NESSUN OGGETTO E’INNOCENTE» (2000) (aucun objet n’est innocent) qui deviendra le titre du dispositif.”

L’exposition présentée à partir du 29 avril au Frac Corse réunit les œuvres de vingt-cinq artistes: Boris Achour, Johanna Billing, Elie Cristiani, etc.

Frac Corsica (Regional Contemporary Art Fund) is an integral part of the "Pleiades", the name given to the events throughout France to celebrate the 30 years of the creation of Frac in France.

Since their origin, FRAC, co financed by the State and the Regions, joined by other local authorities, fulfill three complementary functions: 
Collect the art of our time, give it to see by going to the public meeting, make pedagogy. "

The principle of "Pleiades" is to invite an artist in each region who will rise an exhibition of contemporary art. Corsica is Reip Hughes was selected   for this project.

"In his own work, explains the presentation of the exhibition,  Hugues Reip sometimes uses false pretenses and for the presentation of the collection   FRAC Corse, it will be a question of deceptive appearances. Playing with the shadows  of the exhibited works, it will transform these elements in demonstration   (bases, picture rails ..), setting objects on their own projections, materializing their silhouettes in a double negative. More symbolically,   this proposal will be  enhanced by the presence of a light work of Maurizio Nannucci entry in the collection of FRAC Corse in 2000.
